What is SLS? It stands for sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate. This chemical is in most cleansers and shampoos, dish detergents, and many other products that need bubbling action for cleaning. The problem is that it has been proven harmful and is only allowed in "rinse-off" personal products. I defy anyone to show me that absolutely ALL of the shampoo or conditioner we apply gets rinsed off. The residue left behind can not only result in unhealthy hair, it can cause disease long-term.
